Missoula - Ginette Marie Alice Evans, 69, died of cancer Tuesday, June 18, at her Missoula home.

She was born May 15, 1922, in Missoula to Horace and Marguerite Roberts. She graduated from Missoula County High School and the St. Patrick Hospital school for nursing.

On June 12, 1943, she married James D Evans. They were residents of the Missoula and Bonner area during their 48 years together. Ginette and Jim purchased Estes Appliance Store in 1957 and managed it together until their retirement.

They were active members of Appliance Merchandisers, Inc., for several years, and through that organization they made many new and long-lasting friendships.

Ginette was an avid sportswoman. She enjoyed both hunting and fishing with her husband and friends. She was also fond of antiques, sewing, cooking, gardening and shopping.

Survivors include her husband, Jim, Missoula; two daughters, Linda Browning and Margo Sturgis, both of Missoula; a sister, Germaine Trenary, and an uncle, John Lannegrand, both of Missoula; six grandchildren: Greg, Brian and Jennifer Browning, Christine Seitz, Candice Neaves and David Seitz; and a great-grandson, soon to arrive.

Her parents and two brothers, Pierre and Maurice Roberts, preceded her in death.
