October 30, 1894, he was united in marriage to Maud Elnora Adkisson and to this union eight children were born, seven of whom survive.
His wife and an infant daughter, Charlesa, his parents, three brothers and a sister preceded him in death.
The seven surviving children are Florence May Jones, Corning; Mabel Ellen Kirkpatrick, Twin Falls, Idaho; Vaun Opal Littleton, Jerome, Idaho; Bernard Glen, Dexter, Ore.; Pearl Inez Pullen, Macedonia, Ia.; triplets: Cleo of Shively, Calif., Cecil of Jerome, Idaho, and Charlesa, deceased. In addition to the children, he is also survived by two brothers: Compton of Earlville, Ill.; and Philo of Dekalb, Ill.; 46 grandchildren, 43 great grandchildren and four great great grandchildren, also many other relatives and friends.
Two of his many interests were traveling and his love for his children.
Services were held Tuesday, November 13, 1956, at 2 p.m. from the Methodist church in Corning, with the Rev. Brown Garlock in charge.
Interment was in Walnut Grove cemetery.
Music for the services was furnished by John Riegel, accompanied by Mrs. Kathleen Cook, pianist.
Pall bearers were Bill White, Chas. Jones, Raymond Hyde, Donald Schrader, Delmar Cartwright, and Jr. Heimke.
