Randy Lee Wimbush, United States Army PV2, was a veteran of the Persian Gulf conflict. He departed this life suddenly at the Carolinas Medical Center, in Charlotte, North Carolina. The son of Tommy and Caroline Shell Wimbush, Randy was a former ITS employee at the Charlotte Douglas International Airport. Randy was a good son and we'll always miss him. He is preceded in death by his grandparents, Mr. David Wimbush, Sr., Mack, Sr. and Rachel Shell. Fond memories are cherished by his parents, Tommy and Carolyn Shell Wimbush of Shelby; his brother, Reggie Wimbush; daughters, Tytiana Degree, Brandy Wimbush and Jacquia Catlin; sons, Travon McDowell and Antavious Byers, all of Shelby; his loving grandmother, Mrs. Mary Alice Wimbush of Lawndale; two aunts and four uncles of the Wimbush family; seven aunts and six uncles of the Shell family; his former wife, Philahia Chambers of Shelby; and a special friend, Trudy Izama and her daughter Simmone Izama of Shelby.

Randy's Homegoing Service was held at the First Baptist Church of Lawndale, North Carolina, on February 2, 2002. His uncle, Minister Melvin Hush, and Reverend Billy D. Houze officiated. Flower Bearers were Regina Allen, Denise Dorsey, Temisha Eberhart, Latonya Gidney, Amy Shell, Portia Shell, Rene Shell and Tomika Shell. Pall Bearers were Shawn Brewton, Carlos Clark, Greg Davis, Darren Dorsey, Jermaine Gash, Michael Howell, Jeffrey Phillips and Antwan Wright. Enloe Mortuary.
