Vernon Joseph Azevedo, "Vern", age 75, passed away at his Madera residence following an extended illness. Vern was born in Snelling, California to Joseph and Maria Mattos Azevedo. He was a resident of Madera for the last 15 years where he was a Dairy Manager. He was a former resident of Chino California for 35 years.
Vern was a member of St. Columba Catholic Church in Chowchilla, and loved supporting the Portuguese community celebrations. He believed in a hard work ethic but was a joker Vern never met a stranger. He was respected by the people he came in contact with. He enjoyed playing cards and spending time with his children and grandchildren.
Vern is survived by his wife of 54 years, Darlene Azevedo of Madera, a son Darryl Azevedo of Madera and by a daughter Verlene M. Azevedo of Chino, Ca. He is the brother of Arthur Azevedo of Selma, Ca. Delores Verhoeven of San Francisco, Ca. and Maria Borba of Merced, Ca. He is the beloved grandfather of Jalene Ressegue, Katrina Azevedo, Joseph Azevedo, Michelle Azevedo, and Anthony Azevedo.
