He was born in Decatur, Illinois on January 11, 1879, to Henry and Mary Jane Corbett Behr. (actually Sarah Jane Corlett Behr)
On June 28, 1901, he married Clidia Bogan, and she preceded him in death on January 13, 1953.
Mr. Behr had been associated with the Indiana Brass Company for 30 years. He had lived most of his life in Frankfort.
Surviving are four sons, Grover E. Behr, Rudolph "Doc" Behr, Robert F. Behr and William L. Behr, all of Frankfort; three daughters, Mrs. Vineeda Tompkins of Horse Head, New York, Mrs. Thelma Smith of Frankfort and Mrs. Betty Jean Johnson of Peru; one brother, Grover Cleveland Behr of Cairo, Illinois; 15 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a son, Henry and daughter, Lana May Behr.
Services will be held Tuesday, June 18, 1963, and burial will be in Bunnell Cemetery.
