Evelyn Riehle, 90, of Burbank, South Dakota, entered into rest at the Prairie Estates Care Center of Elk Point on Tuesday, July 31st, 2012 Born Evelyn Virginia Smith in Millette, South Dakota, on October 11, 1921 to Ernest Otto and Jennie Weltha (Stelle) Smith. She married Lawrence Riehle on December 24,1957 in Luverne, MN. Evelyn loved to dance, paint, bowl, play cards & bingo. She was a proud member of The Mayflower Society, Daughters of the American Revolution and the F.O.E.. She is survived by her son, Denny (Helen) Hays of Burbank, SD; 3 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren and many nieces & nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Ernest & Jennie Smith; her 4 brothers, Thomas, George (Donald), Frank & Harold; her 4 sisters, Nellie, Della, Dorothy & Marjorie; her son, Larry Hays; her husband, Lawrence Riehle and her grandson, Michael Hays. Evelyn's determination, tenacity and courage has become an inspiration to all who knew and loved her. She will be greatly missed.


Cemetery:

Burial of ashes will be in Bluff View Cemetery at a later date.


Visitation:

Visitation will be from 6 to 7 p.m., Thursday, August 2, 2012 at Kober Funeral Home in Vermillion with a prayer service at 7 p.m.


Service:

Funeral service will be 10:00 a.m., Friday, August 3, 2012, at First Baptist Church in Vermillion with Rev. Elmer 'Sandy' Aakre officiating.
