Mark L. Beard, 67, passed away at his home in Eckert Monday afternoon shortly before 4 o'clock following an illness of two years. Mr. Beard was born Oct. 23, 1867, in Moland, Minn. He came to Delta county in 1910. He was a trustee in the Eckert Presbyterian church for a number of years. He was a member of the Delta Elks lodge and also of the Modern Woodmen. Surviving him are two sisters, Miss Anna M. Beard of Eckert, with whom he lived, and Mrs. Irwin of Montana. Funeral services were held this afternoon at the Eckert Presbyterian church with Rev. J. A. Hunsicker officiating. Burial was in the Eckert cemetery. The Delta mortuary was in charge.
