James McAlister, 86 years old retired preacher, died Wednesday night about 11:30 at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Abels in Van Buren, Arkansas.
McAlister moved here from Barling about 1942 and has since lived at the Abels home.
Besides his daughter, Mrs. Abels, he is also survived by another daughter Mrs. Efurd.
Funeral service was held at 1:30 Saturday afternoon at the Rye Hill Church South of Fort Smith, Arkansas. Burial was at Steep Hill Cemetery near Greenwood, Arkansas. McConnel Funeral home was in charge of arrangements.
