Alberta was born July 30, 1934, in Fulton, IL, to Henry and Effie (Houzenga) Faber. She was educated in the Fulton Christian School. She married Frederick Michels on March 11, 1956. Alberta had worked at the former Jane Lamb Hospital in Clinton, IA. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Sterling, IL. She loved doing word search puzzles and listening to country and polka music.
Survivors include five daughters, Cynthia (Mrs. Pete) Garcia of Sterling, IL; Cheryl (Mrs. Brian) Scykes of Rock Falls, IL; Christine (Mrs. Bill) Haenitsch of Mesa, AZ; Cathleen Michels of Sterling, IL; Carol (Mrs. Javier) Frias of Morrison, IL; three sons, Darrell (Julie Hart) Michels of South St. Paul, MN; Allen Michels of Sterling, IL; Randy Michels of Decatur, IL; sixteen grandchildren; five great grandchildren; one sister, Lois (Mrs. Bill) Seaman of Sterling, IL; one brother, Leonard (Diana) Faber of Oak Harbor, OH.
She was preceded in death by two sons, Larry Michels and Mark Michels Sr.; one granddaughter, Betty Irene Scykes.
