Frances Bargiel earned her wings on Oct. 20, 2020.


She was born on Jan. 18, 1927 in New Castle, Pa.


After marrying Bernie, she lived in Maugansville, Md., where they raised their family.

Frances was a woman whose love and compassion encompassed the world.


Prior to relocating to Pawley's Island, S.C., Frances worked with many local charities, including Habitat for Humanity and Catholic Golden Angels, which she pioneered.


Her volunteering continued once settled in South Carolina by running Fran's Flea Market at The Lakes at Litchfield and donating the proceeds to those in need. Many have been gifted one of multitudes of crocheted afghans, prayer shawls and scarves. She took great pride in volunteering and serving her community.


Frances was a beloved daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and above all a woman of God. She lived by the commandment to love one another as I have loved you. Her love, compassion, genuine heart and hugs will be missed greatly by all the lives she touched.

The services will be private.


In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Golden Angels, c/o E. Sodano, St. Anne Church, 1525 Oak Hill Ave., Hagerstown, MD 21742.
