Oscar E. Isaak, 98, Aberdeen, died Friday, March 7, 2008, at Mother Joseph Manor, Aberdeen.

Oscar Emil Isaak was born on May 19, 1909 at Kulm, ND to Gottfried & Caroline (Liechner) Isaak. He received his education at Kulm.

On July 16, 1935 Oscar married Lenora Meidinger at Leola, SD. During those years Oscar and a friend Willie Weller engineered, manufactured, and sold puffed (exploded) wheat. Willie produced it, Lenora sacked it and Oscar loaded it into his model "A" and sold it to area farmers and stores. In 1951 Oscar and Lenora moved to Aberdeen where they made their home and raised their two children. He worked as a district representative for Harper Janitorial Supplies. Oscar was always a sales person who enjoyed meeting and dealing with people all over the region.

Oscar was known for his unique sense of humor. In his free time Oscar enjoyed reading, traveling, and music, especially playing the piano and guitar. Above all he loved spending time with his grandkids. His wife of seventy-two years passed away on August 17, 2007.

The family would like to thank all of the wonderful staff at Mother Joseph Manor for their loving care throughout the years.

Grateful for having shared Oscar's life are his children, Arnie (Mona) Isaak, Aberdeen; Donna (Ron) Brown, Tulsa, OK; four grandchildren, Lee (Toni) Isaak, Sioux Falls; Scott (Laura) Isaak, Aberdeen; Debbie (Randy) Simon, Marthas Vinyard, MA; Roger (Marian) Brown, Houston, TX; and four great-grandchildren, Sierra & ShyAnn Simon; Ashley & Jamie Brown.

He is preceded in death by his parents, wife, infant son, seven brothers; and two sisters.

The service will be Tuesday, March 11, 2008 at Spitzer-Miller Funeral Home, with Pastor Ross Prevo officiating. Burial will be at the Seventh-Day Adventist Cemetery, near Kulm, ND.
