Mrs. Arnold was a native of Greensboro, NC, born on September 17, 1928. She was a graduate of Greensboro Senior High School, and attended the Women's College, now UNC-G. She was a member of College Park Baptist Church, a former member of the Eastern Star and Elk's Club. She also volunteered with the American Red Cross. She enjoyed traveling, collecting antiques, and was an avid supporter of animal rights. She and her husband founded and owned Arnold Equipment Co.

Mrs. Arnold is preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, George Wright Arnold and her parents Mr. John Hartwell Buckner and Mrs. Vivian Lucille Winfrey Buckner.

Surviving are her beloved daughter, Angela Diane Arnold of Atlanta, Georgia; her special toy poodle, Pepe; her maternal aunt Jane W. Settle, of Greensboro, NC; cousins Mimie Saunders, Jay Whittemore, Steve and Jenny Hicks, Stephen C. and Paul H. Settle and Leonard W. Settle, in addition to many other extended family members.
