Dear son of Peter and Helen(Malecki)Gramacki. Devoted husband of Evelyn(Rezler)whom he married June 19, 1948 in Bay City, MI. Loving father of JoAnn Klinger, AnnaMarie Horen, Rosalie Schaff-Kaufman and Joel. Grandfather of Audrey Oehring, Ashley Horen, Justin Horen and Kristopher Klinger. Brother of John, Frank, Ollie, Alex, Christine(Czuba), Jenny(Majznerski) and Alice(Leonard).

Joe was taken out of high school and served his country in WWII, bravely fighting at the Battle of the Bulge, earning the Purple Heart and 4 leaf clovers. He was photographed at war and featured in COLLIERS magazine in 1945. It was issued in January 1953, special issue. Employed at Bay City Chevrolet, retiring after 30 years of service. Rarely missed a day of work. Joe's hobbies were stamp collecting, horse-shoes, building model airplanes and bird houses. He loved wrens and hummingbirds. Member of the Bay Area Harmonica Band in Bay City. Belonged to a few harmonica groups in the area. He could play the harmonica and accordion at the same time. During the war, while recuperating in a Paris Hospital, he played the harmonica over the phone for a Talent Contest and won 1st place, $50 dollars. He liked to have fun, make jokes, listen to polish music and entertain people.

Cause of Death: Respiratory Failure

Entered Service on April 1, 1943 in Detroit, Michigan. Separated October 16, 1945 at Camp McCoy, Wisconsin. Conflicts: Served at Normandy, Northern France, Rhineland, Ardennes and Central Europe. Decorations and Citations: Purple Heart with Oak Leaf Cluster, Combat Infantry Badge, 3 Overseas Bars. Also European-African Middle Eastern Theater Service Medal. Navy Reserves 1 year.
