Joseph W. Bever, Swanton - Joseph W. Bever, 41, of RD 1, here, died Sunday at Sacred Heart Hospital in Cumberland. Born in Piedmont, W. Va., he was a son of George E. Bever and the late Edith E. (Fox) Bever. Mr. Bever was a member of Chestnut Grove United Methodist Church, a Koren War veteran and an employee of the Island Creek Coal Company until 1969 when he became disabled. Surviving are his widow, Burldiene F. (Bittinger) Bever; two daughters, Karen F. and Amy S. Bever, both at home; a son, Randall J. Bever, at home; four sisters, Mrs. Erma Ahern and Mrs. Martha Marple, both of Swanton; Mrs. Myra Determan, Westernport, and Mrs. Gladys Schell, Washington State; and six brothers, Thomas Bever, Laurel; Sam Bever, Illinois; John Bever, Washington State; and George, William and Ralph Bever, all of Swanton. The body is at the Stewart Funeral Home, Oakland, where friends will be received today from 7 to 9 p.m. A service will be conducted tomorrow at 2 p.m. at the funeral home with Rev. Henry Kinsey officiating. Burial will be in the Bever Family Cemetery in Swanton.
