Norma B. (Mrs. George) Morris, age 82, of Watertown, SD, passed away on Saturday, April 26, 2008 at a care center in Watertown.

Norma Belle Morris was born on July 3, 1925 at Watertown, SD to Charles and Lydia (Miller) Currey. She attended school in Watertown and graduated from Watertown High School in 1943. Norma worked at various places until marriage.

On April 15, 1945, Norma married George H. Morris at Watertown, SD. Following marriage, the couple continued to live in Watertown and Norma worked at Bee's Beauty Shop, Watertown Ice & Cold Storage, Fromke Real Estate and at a local doctor's office. Later, she became a stay-at-home mother to raise their children.

She was a life member of St. Martin's Lutheran Church where she was baptized and confirmed. She was also a member of Royal Neighbors of America, V.F.W. Auxiliary, American Legion Auxiliary, D.A.V. Auxiliary and a long time member of the Watertown Senior Citizens. Norma enjoyed reading her Bible, sewing, and taking care of her flowers.

Norma is survived by her husband of 63 years, George, of Watertown, SD; two daughters: Betty and her husband, John Sumpman, of Watertown, SD and Sherri and her husband, Stacey Rothenberger, of Slayton, MN; one step daughter, Jackie, and her husband, Chuck Anderson, of Fairfax, MN; two grandchildren: Jacob Sumpman and Emily Anderson; one brother, Marvin "Hap", and his wife, Darlene Currey, of Watertown, SD; and two sisters: Delores Meseberg of Watertown, SD and Arlene Sharp of Henry, SD.

She was preceded in death by one infant daughter, Sherry Lynn; one step-daughter, Georgie Dombek; her parents; three brothers: Dale, Bud and Chet; and one sister, Marlys Reeve.

Funeral services will be Thursday, May 1, 2008 in the St. Martin's Lutheran Church, Watertown.

Burial will be in the Mt. Hope Cemetery, Watertown, SD. Honorary pallbearers will be: Doug Cooper, Mark Smith, Ron Currey, Larry Meseberg, Bud Walkins and Dan Smith. Active pallbearers will be: Roger Eisfield, Galen Lewis, Stacey Rothenberger, John Sumpman, Darwin Meseberg and Danny Sharp.
