William S. and Margaret M. Bird appeared on the 1900 census of Turner's Mill, Geneva Co., AL. After the death of Margaret M., William married Sallie Merritt Bascomb, who had a son named Lewis Bascomb, born about 1909. William S. and Sallie Byrd appeared on the 1920 census of Hoke's Bluff in Houston Co., AL. They had daughters Ora L., Flossie L., and Jewel E. and son Charlie D., and Sallie's son Lewis Bascomb living with them. William died in 1933 and was buried beside his first wife. When Sallie died, she was buried on the other side of William.
