Katherine McClure Armstrong, of Atlanta, Georgia, died as the result of an automobile accident in Atlanta, Georgia on Wednesday April 30, 2008. Katherine graduated from Roanoke Valley Christian School in 1991, and continued her education at Roanoke College, where she earned a B.A. in English in 1995. Renowned for her stunning beauty and heartfelt compassion, she was most proud of being a devoted wife, and a doting and loving mother of two beautiful boys, Jackson DeRussy, aged 4 years, and Adam Parker, aged 20 months. She was also a highly regarded and successful pharmaceutical industry professional, a gifted artist, and a skilled decorator. In addition to her two sons, she leaves behind her devoted husband, Alan DeRussy Armstrong, Commander, USN.; her two girls, Macie and Kassie (of the German Shorthaired Pointer persuasion); her parents, Joe and Yvonne McClure, of Boones Mill; and her sister, Denise Clifton. Services will be at Tabernacle Baptist Church, 11 a.m. Monday, May 5, 2008. Pastor Rick Elmore will officiate. Interment will follow in Evergreen Burial Park. The family will receive friends at Oakey's South Chapel on Brambleton Avenue in Roanoke from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. on Sunday. In lieu of flowers, please make memorial contributions to a college fund that has been established for Adam and Jackson. Make checks payable to "UESP" and send them to Utah Educational Savings Plans, c/o Alan Armstrong, 1290 Oakdale Road, N.E., Atlanta, Georgia, 30307.
