Clara Leona Young, daughter of Ammi S. and Ida J. Young was born at Spirit Lake, Dickerson County, Iowa Sept. 10th, 1876 and passed away Dec. 12th. 1946, at the age of 70 years, 3 months, and 2 days.
When she was two years old she went with her parents to Nebraska in a covered wagon. She went to school in Madison, Nebraska. When about 13 years old, returned with her parents to Iowa and lived at Stratford, Hamilton County, 7 years. She was married to Jestin E. Young at Stratford Jan. 1st, 1893. To this union 9 children were born. In 1914 they moved to Lehigh, where their home has been for the last 32 years.
Her husband preceeded her in death July 1st, 1935.
She leaves to mourn her passing: Guy Young of West Branch, Iowa; Mrs. Elmer Ford, Mrs. Cleve Bailey, Mrs. Ole Ober, Mrs. Tom Bailey and Mrs. Merton Luba, all of Lehigh; Mrs Jessie Raub of Fort Dodge; Henry & Ray Young of Centialra, Illinois. Also 24 grandchildren and two sisters, Mrs. Henry Woods of Dayton and Mrs. J. C. Young of El Monte, California and a brother, John Young of Fort Dodge.
Funeral services Monday at 1 o'clock in Lauferswielers Funeral Home and 1:45 in Lehigh Methodist Church. Interment in Vegars Cemetery southeast of Lehigh.
