ANTON E. WICKLUND DEAD
The Body of Anton E. Wicklund was laid to rest in the Woodman cemetery last Sunday afternoon. Services were conducted at the home by Rev. R. L. Barrackman, of Thief River Falls, and the Woodman camp had charge of the funeral, six of the members __ (acting) as pall bearers. The casket was draped with beautiful floral tributes. The Woodman provided a beautiful emblematic floral pillow while the Royal Neighbors, the Presbyterian Ladies Aid and the Standard Oil Company all gave floral tokens. More of the citizens of Middle River than could get into the house paid their respects to his memory by attending. The Woodman marched in a body to the cemetery.
A. M. Wicklund, A. E. Wicklund, and Oscar Wicklund, father and brothers of the deceased, all of Bucklin, Mo., arrived here Friday and were present at the burial.
Thus is one of our most respected citizens laid to his final rest. Probably no man in Middle River would be missed more. He has been with us since the earliest days of the village and was a vital part of the town, having held various positions of trust, and being a conscientious and active worker in both church and lodge, being a member of the Presbyterian church and the Woodman Lode. His death leaves a gap in our social and business life that will be hard to fill. Peace to his ashes. - Middle River (Minn.) Pioneer.
