EDWARD E. CLINE


KNOXVILLE -- Edward E. Cline, 86, of 411 North Hebard St., Knoxville, died today at 5:30 a.m. in the Good Samaritan Nursing Home. He had been receiving care there several months following a fall.


He was born Aug. 11, 1878, in Canton. Mr. Cline attended school in Abingdon. He was married to Bess Gramblet [sic] Feb. 6, 1916. He worked as a secretary in a doctor's office, and was later manager of the Abingdon Trap Co. After joining the Seventh-Day Adventist Church, he became more active in welfare and missionary activities. He sang in the church choir. He and his wife have lived in Knoxville since March 1953. He was the superintendent of the Sabbath school and a board member of the Good Samaritan Nursing Home.


He is survived by the widow. Jack Cline and Roland Pointer, of Galesburg, are nephews of Mr. Cline.


Funeral services are pending at the Martin Funeral Home in Knoxville.

KNOXVILLE -- Funeral services for Edward E. Cline, 86, of 411 N. Hebard St., Knoxville, who died Friday, were today at 1:30 p. m. at the Martin Funeral Home. Elder Lyle Euler of the Seventh-day Adventist Church of Moline officiated. Vocalists were Becky Wang and Darlene Hart and organist was Miss Ruth Wang.


Burial was in the Abingdon Cemetery. Pallbearers were George Schwarz, Milo Richmond, Jack Cline, Rolland Pointer, Sherman Holdridge and L. C. Tsao.
