A native of Alamance County, she was retired from Security Forces at the Sara Lee Corporation, Asheboro, NC. She loved the Lord and enjoyed singing Gospel music. She was formerly a member of the choir at Central Falls Baptist Church and also sang in a trio and quartet.
She is survived a daughter, Jan McPherson (Byrd) of Randleman; granddaughter, Jana McPherson of Asheboro; brothers, Douglas Walton of Randleman, and Gene Walton of Brandon, England.
