Isabel Margaret Ferguson Moses, 82, Monona, Iowa, died Sunday, May 04, 2008, at Winneshiek Medical Center, Decorah, Iowa, following a brief illness. Isabel was born on November 10, 1925, McGregor, Iowa, to Robert and Fanny (Demo) Ferguson. She graduated from Marquette High School in 1943. Isabel also graduated from Elkader Junior College in 1945, where she obtained her teachers certificate. She taught Elementary Education for a number of years in the area.

Isabel was united in marriage to William A. Moses on April 17, 1946, at the Little Brown Church in Nashua. Five children were born to this union. Isabel and William purchased their first farm in 1948 where they raised their children. In 1976, Isabel and William moved off the farm. Isabel then pursued and earned her Home Health Aid Certificate and worked as a Home Health Aid until 1990. In 1994, she received the Outstanding Volunteer Service Award for Project Head Start. She enjoyed traveling, gardening, playing bingo and weaving. Isabel was a loving wife and a wonderful mother to five children, seventeen grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren.

Survivors include her husband of sixty-two years, William; four children, Joanne Moses Lewis, Chesapeake, VA, Robert (Sheryl) Moses, Monona, Thomas (Karen) Moses, Monona, Byron (Brenda) Moses, Monona; daughter-in-law, Amy Moses, Luana; sixteen grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren.

Isabel was preceded in death by her parents; one son, Bruce Moses; two sisters, Edith Miller and Ruth Moreland; one brother, Harley Ferguson and one granddaughter, Jessie Moses.

Following the burial, everyone is invited back to the church for dinner and fellowship.
