She was born May 8, 1931, in Stanly County, to the late Claude and Bertha Hatley Tucker. Mrs. Trexler was educated in Stanly County Schools and was a member of the Wesleyan Church in Albemarle before moving to Concord, where she became a member of Broadus Baptist Church. More than anything, she loved her grandchildren and spending time with them.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Trexler was preceded in death by her husband, Claude Alexander Trexler; sister, Peggy Hatley; and brother, Roy Dean Tucker.
She is survived by her children, Julie Thomas and husband, Lynn, of Salisbury and Joe Trexler and wife, Terri, of Andrews; grandchildren, Ernie Carlson, Cory Carlson, Jason Trexler, Josh Trexler, Dax Trexler, and Roger Trexler; great-grandchildren, Evan Carlson and Raiden Carlson; and her great-great-grandchildren, Kiari Carlson and Jaeylen Carlson.
The family will greet friends and relatives on Wednesday, November 29, from 10:30 AM until 11:30 AM at Powles Staton Funeral Home in Rockwell.
The funeral service will follow at 11:30 AM, on Wednesday, in the funeral home chapel, with Pastor Rodney Quesenberry officiating.
Interment will follow at the Historic Salisbury National Cemetery, 202 Government Road, Salisbury, NC 28144.
