Ruby Walker, Age 96 passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her family on April 26, 2008 in Muskogee Oklahoma. Ruby was born February 13, 1912 and was one of nine children born to William and Pearlie Mae Joplin near Ft. Towson, Oklahoma.She married Wesley Warren Walker in 1934 and lived in the Orr and Ringling, Oklahoma area until moving to Muskogee in 1947. She and her husband were members of Ash Street Baptist Church.Preceding her in death was her husband Wesley, three brothers, James Joplin, Leonard Harvey and Dewey Harvey and daughter Evelyn Stanley of Muskogee. Ruby also leaves two daughters, Carol (Don) Johnson of Richland, WA and Margaret (Larry) Templeton of Muskogee, brother Lewis Harvey of Bartlesville and two sisters Lottie Landers of Tulsa and Gertrude Davison of Longmont, CO. Also, eight grandchildren, five great grandchildren, friends Kathy Reese and Kay Palmer and very best friend and companion Sally Kessler.A celebration of life of Ruby Walker will be held at Memorial Park Cemetery Mausoleum in Muskogee on Monday, April 28, 2008 at 1:00 pm with Rev. Jack Hobbs officiating.Serving as pallbearers will be grandsons, Dannie Templeton, Donnie Templeton, Chris Gard, Wesley Stanley; great grandson, Greg Mitchum; family friend, Marion Smith.
