Herber L. Knapp, Sr.


WEST MELBOURNE - Herbert L. Knapp, Sr, the building inspector for the town of West Melbourne, died Thursday at his home.

Mr. Knapp, 70, resided at 136 Shannon Ave., NW here. He was a member of the Beckley, W. Va., Presbyterian Church, the Beckley Lodge 95, F. & A.M. and the Shrine Temple of Charleston, W. Va.

Mr. Knapp was born Sept. 8, 1891 at Graydon, W. VA. and came to South Brevard in 1955.

For more than 30 years he was store manager for the Gulf Smokeless Coal Co. in Tams, W. VA.

Burial will be in Beckley.

Mr. Knapp is survivied by his widow, Mrs. Irma Knapp of West Melbourne; a son, H. L. Knapp, Jr. of Crab Orchard, W. Va.; a daughter, Mrs. E. L. Wall of California; three grandchildren: a borther, N. C. Knapp of Eau Gallie and Crab Orchard; and two sisters, Miss Elsie Knapp of West Melbourne and Mrs. J. M. Hunt of Victor, W. Va.

Friends may call at ehe Brownlie Funeral Home this evening from 7 until 8:30.
