Elizabeth was born in Johnson Junction, which is not on any of today's maps. Johnson Junction was in Fleming County. I believe that it is now called Flemingsburg.

On the marriage certificate, James' occupation is listed as, "a man of leisure." James was 53; Gertrude 45.

As yet, I don't know where James is buried. His death certificate states that he was buried on September 21, 1935. The place of his burial is listed as the University of Southern California. The funeral director is listed as LA County General Hospital, and he was not embalmed. Could this mean that his body was donated to science? I just don't know at this time.
