Eileen M. McCauley, 88, of Vero Beach passed away Saturday, December 10, 2022, on her 88th birthday. She was born and raised in Brooklyn, NY and graduated Little Flower High School. Her father, Alvah, was a NYC firefighter and her mother, Ellen, who attended college, raised the family hosting extended family dinners every Sunday. She had two sisters, Dolores and Kathleen, and a brother, Alvah. Eileen married Henry McCauley and became a widow after only six years of marriage. They had a son named Henry.


She is preceded in death by her son by only six months. As a single-mom, Eileen drove three hours a day for 20 years working full-time at Brown Paper Company in Greenwich, CT. Upon retiring from Brown Paper as a highly regarded sales representative, Eileen moved to Vero Beach.


Visitation will be held from 12-1:30PM., Wednesday, December 21, 2022, Cox-Gifford Seawinds Funeral Home, 1950 20th Street, Vero Beach, FL 32960. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 2PM at St. Helen Catholic Church, Vero Beach. Burial services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, December 27, 2022 at the Chapel at St. Charles Cemetery in N.Y. Graveside service at St. Charles Cemetery on Tuesday, December 27th at 11:00 a.m. St. Charles/Resurrection Cemeteries, 2015 Wellwood Ave., Farmingdale, NY.
