RUSSELL LEE BRIZENDINE

Russell Lee Brizendine,76, Kansas City, KS, passed away March 4, 1998, in Broward County Hospital, Ft. Lauderdale, FL, following complications with a broken hip. Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Monday, March 9, at Newcomer's White Chapel Funeral Home; burial in White Chapel Cemetery, Gladstone, MO.

Russell was born and lived in Kansas City all his life with the exception of this last year, when he retired to Florida with his surviving wife of 55 years, Helen Maxine Brizendine.

He served in the U.S. Coast Guard during WWII. He was a VFW commander, a Sunday School teacher, charter member and deacon at Judson Baptist Church. He also enjoyed making wooden car toys for children, was a Big Brother and a Boy Scout Leader. He had his own Barbershop at 31st and Main, and at Chouteau Rd in North Kansas City, MO. He loved to read, fish and travel.

He is survived by his mother, Ann Brizendine; brother, Robert and family, Anna Lee, Eddie and Nancy; his first son, Michael and family, Lori, David, Marissa and Heidi; his second son, Darrell and wife, Ashley.

His last son, David, preceded him in death in 1992, leaving wife Debbie, and son, Jacob. He was also preceded in death by his grandson, Robert Lee. We will miss your smile Pop.
