Carter, Dorothy of Garland, TX went to join her heavenly Father on May 27, 2013 at the age of 92. Dorothy was born in Pratt, KS on January 14, 1921. She was 1 of 12 children, born to John and Iva House. She accepted the Lord as her Savior over 80 years ago and enjoyed singing in her Father's Pentecostal Church. Dorothy was married for 64 years to her beloved husband Ray, whom she lost September 1, 2007. They had one daughter. Dorothy was a resident of Garland since 1947 and was a member of New Life Church in Richardson. Dorothy is survived by her only daughter, Doana Smith, son-in-law, Mark Smith and only grand-daughter, Lindsay Smith, all of Garland, TX. She is also survived by 1 brother, J.J. House of Point, TX, 4 sisters, Betty Chesser of Mustang, Oklahoma; Zelma Hartigan of North Richland Hills, TX; Virginia Ruth Borden of Gladewater, TX and Naomi Holley of Emory, TX. She is preceded in death by 5 brothers and 1 sister. Visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:00 PM on Thursday, May 30, 2013 at Restland Funeral Home. Services will be at 10:00 AM on Friday, May 31, 2013 in Restland Wildwood Chapel.
