Frances was born at the family home in Filer Idaho in 1927. When the doctor arrived the next day he said everything was good. Frances was the youngest of three daughters born to Rev. Alfred W. Barbezat and Arminta (Prouty) Barbezat. She was 17 years younger than her closest sister.
Frances was inspired to go to Seattle Pacific College where she met her future husband, Jim. When she first laid eyes on him, he was dissecting a cat in a lab. This did not dissuade her in the least.
They married September 18, 1949 shortly after Mom graduated. The following spring, Jim graduated and was hired by the Edmonds School District as a teacher and long-time principal.
Three sons were born to their union: Rick (Lorri), Greg (Brenda) and Brian (Julie). Four grandchildren followed: Isaac (Bridgette), Jacob, Sarah, and David. Jim and Frances were blessed to meet two great-grandchildren: Clayton and Oscar.
Jim and Frances were active in the Free Methodist Church in the Northwest. They were founding members of the Shoreline Free Methodist Church, and long time members of Seattle First Free Methodist and Warm Beach Free Methodist.
Mom was active in Sigma Rho at Seattle Pacific, helping women students with scholarships and encouragement. She served the Alumni Association and was an employee of the school in various capacities. Frances was an amazing person who continued to keep an active mind to the very end - through memorizing favorite Psalms, and calling her wide range of friends and family regularly.
