There is conflicting information regarding the spelling Frederick's first name and his country of birth. His name was spelled Frederich in his obituary. Census records and his death registration state that he was born in Germany, however, one immigration record shows his nationality as Swiss.
Frederick married Bertha Zerwas in Shawano County, Wisconsin on 19 April 1886. They had two daughters, Pearl and Ruth.
The family moved to Ontario, Canada between 1900 and 1904 and were living in St. Catharines when Frederick died.
He died at his home at 29 Raymond Street, St. Catharines on 24 May 1913. A brief notice of his death was published in The St. Catharines Standard on 26 May 1913, p. 1, col. 2.
