He lived in Genoa, Illinois until he was 9 years old when he moved with his parnets to Winterset, Iowa and lived there until 1869 when he moved to Nebraska living there until he came to Kansas in 1905. Besides his wife, 3 children survive - Mrs. Wm. Lee Ray of Myrtle Point, Mrs. Wm. Williams of Hoyt, Kans. Buried in Allen cemetery. He became a 32 degree Mason Jan. 9, 1889
