On Monday Jan.29, 2024, sadly to have to announce the passing of Marcelino Acosta " Chalino" at the age of 93.

A beloved husband, father, and grandfather. His wife Josefina Pacheco Acosta of over 60 years passed in 2020 from health complications. They were married in Charay, Sinaloa close to where they grew up in San Blas, Sinaloa. Soon after getting married, they moved to Long Beach, Ca. where they raised their family.

Family members which include surviving children Mauricio, Francisco, Jaime, Nolberto, Eduardo and Felicitas. His extended family includes grandchildren Nicholas, Jeremiah, Isaiah, Michael, Jacob, and daughter in law Patricia.

Marcelino was born to Felicitas Baes Corrales (Acosta) and Marcelino Miranda Leyva. His mother was still alive to witness her sons' accomplishments moving to the United States. She was able to see the better life he provided for himself and his family and at the same token provide for her needs. Unfortunately, his father died when he was too young to have any recollections of him. Being the youngest Marcelino was the only living sibling. Siblings which include Guadalupe, Ramon, and Maria Miranda Acosta.

Their lives were a struggle in Mexico living poorly on a ranch with little education. Fortunately, Marcelino was able to bypass all the obstacles his life faced and live a better life for himself and his family. He was able to provide for his family and live comfortably with everything he wanted here in the United States. Probably over and abundantly of his expectations considering where he came from.

Marcelino was like no other a very unique individual. So unpredictable never knew what he would say or do, sometimes good sometimes bad. Either way we will miss his figure of speech and outburst behavior. (Who thought something like that would be missed) He loved his music and had a great collection, and he still was able to listen to it till the very end. He loved to get away and visit family from out of state.

Whether it was Sinaloa during Christmas or Ensenada in the summer it was something he looked forward to every year. He had a good life was able to do and have the things he wanted. Now he is in an even better place where he is reunited with his loved ones including his son Mario Acosta.
