Edward Richard Braga of Arlington, passed away on August 17. Beloved husband to Margaret (Camelio) Braga of Arlington. Loving father to Edward Braga and his wife Sandra of Newton, Anthony Braga of Winchester, Linda Cramer and her husband Adam of Easton, Karen Belanger and her husband James of Acton, Deborah Braga of Arlington and the late David Braga. Dear grandfather to Henry, Stanley, Beth and Sam. Brother of Rita Tauro and her husband Ed of Burlington, Richard Braga and his wife Judy of Florida and the late Rosalind Barnes and William Braga.

Ed grew up in Somerville, MA. He was very athletic in his youth and enjoyed, basketball, track and tennis. While at Somerville High, Ed played for the varsity basketball team and helped lead them to several championships.

After high school he joined the Army and saved up to go to college. He entered Wentworth Institute after finishing his three year's commitment in the service. His major was nuclear engineering. The year he graduated from Wentworth in 1966, he married his high school sweetheart, Margaret Camelio. He also started his job with Boston Edison as an electrical engineer switching from nuclear. He enjoyed his 49 years there, working much overtime throughout all the changes in the company. A highlight of his career was being the lead engineer overseeing the building of one of the generating stations in Boston. He retired at age 75. This August 28, 2020 he and Margaret would have been married 54 years.

Ed was always active and worked very hard to put his children through college. He had six children, three boys, Eddie, Anthony and David and three girls, Linda, Karen and Deborah. His love for his family was foremost in his life and buying a cottage in Westford brought him much happiness. He and his family were able to relax there as they spend the summers swimming, fishing, sailing, canoeing and many barbecue cookouts with the extended relatives.

Ed was not afraid to tackle any project around the house or cottage and put in two bathrooms from scratch. He had no fear of heights and fixed many a roof whether in Arlington or at the cottage or anywhere else. To relax he always enjoyed a good Western, war or other action movies as well as watching sports with a good cup of coffee.

Ed was generous, helpful and kind to all his friends, family and anyone who needed help. He was deeply loved. He will be greatly missed.
