He was born Oct. 26, 1905 in New York to Henry and Pauline Salz Jaekel. He was married to the former Minnie Kunze.
A construction engineer, he lived here 13 years.
Besides his widow, he is survived by three daughters, Mrs. Charlotte Peterson of Brooklyn, Mrs. Barbara Irwin of Port Jervis, Mrs. Judy Cookingham of Wappingers Falls; a son, Charles of Wurtsboro; seven grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Services will be at 2 in the B. I. VanInwegen Funeral Home, Wurtsboro. Burial will be in Westbrookville Cemetery.
Friends may call at the funeral home from 2-4 and 7-9 today.
