Clarence moved his family from Texas to California. He was a ranch forman in Lemon Grove CA in 1923 and 1924. He then moved the family to Southern California and worked in Harbor City in a sulfa factor. Shortly after he began working in the factory he became cronically ill. He never recovered and died July 29, 1929, leaving his widow and seven small children.
