A well known and highly esteemed resident of the west side passed away yesterday when Mary Lucy, widow of Joseph Ashley, died at her home, 724 New York avenue, at 9:25 a. m. She was in her 71st year and was a lifelong resident of Ogdensburg.
She leaves four sons, Gilbert, William, Albert and Edward, two daughters, Miss Agnes Ashley arid Mrs. Charles McWilliams of Buffalo, and three step-children, Joseph Ashley of Spokane, Wash.; John D. Ashley and Miss Emily Ashley of Ogdensburg; four brothers, Antoine Gilbert, Henry Gilbert, Albert Gilbert of Ogdensburg and George Gilbert of Syracuse; two sisters, Mrs. Joseph Denny and Mrs. Benj. Gagnon of Ogdensburg.
The funeral will be held on Friday morning from the house at 7:30 and from Notre Dame church at 8. Interment will be at Notre Dame cemetery. Mrs, Ashley endeared herself to many friends by her loving disposition, keen sympathies and charitable impulses and her demise will bring widespread sorrow.
