Dale R. Conner, 63, of Crosby, died Wednesday, May 7, 2008.
He was born March 12, 1945 in Dayton to William Curtis Conner, Sr. and Juanita Elaine Hopkins Conner. A long time resident of the Dayton area, he graduated from Dayton High School in 1963 and attended Baylor University. Dale was owner and operator of the Rainbow Restaurant in Dayton from 1973 until 1987 and the Rainbow Feed and Hardware. He was Past Worshipful Master of Dayton Masonic Lodge # 825, and former member of the Dayton Volunteer Fire Department.

Services will be 10:00 a.m., Friday, May 9, 2008 at Pace-Stancil Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Joe Carriere officiating. Interment will follow at Magnolia Park Cemetery. Visitation for Dale will be 5:00 to 9:00 p.m., Thursday evening at the funeral home. Pallbearers are Alan Ardist Conner, James Curtis Conner, Ken Manning, Sean Darrell Jameson, Robert G. Rundzieher, Addison Grant Noble, III, and Larry Foster. Honorary Pallbearers are Archie Remmers, J.D. Farris, Dr. William Chase Conner, Dr. William Chad Conner, Dr. William Chance Conner, and L.J. Chachere.

Mr. Conner was preceded in death by his parents, and his grandparents: William "Bill" Ardist Conner and Edna Lee Conner. He is survived by his sons: Steven Conner and wife Michelle of Tarkington Prairie, and Christopher Holt Conner of Dayton; his brothers: Alan D. Conner and wife Mary Ellen of Dayton, William Curtis Conner, Jr. and wife Lynne Jameson of Crosby, his sisters: Connie Conner Noble and husband Grant of Spring, and Donita Leigh McCormick of Albuquerque, New Mexico and two grandchildren: Reno Conner and Cauy Conner; also numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
