Daughter of the late Joseph Sephus and Nora Evelyn Horton McCarter; member of the Aldergate United Methodist Church of Inman. Surviving; daughters, Lucille Blackwood and Patsy Blackwood of the home; son, Paul W. Blackwood of Fairfax, VA; sisters, Vivan M. Seay, Geraldine M. Hutchens and Virginia Sewell of Spartanburg; brothers, Donald V. McCarter of Spartanburg, Louis McCarter of Gaffney, Randolph M. McCarter of Charleston and Beverly J. McCarter of Houston, TX; seven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren. Services 2 Friday at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel by the Revs. Mark R. Lohg and David F. Ervin; burial in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens.
