Patricia Lynn Cheatheam Elliott, age 87, passed away Wednesday, September 2, 2015 following a brief illness. She is survived by her daughters, brothers Finis Carroll Cheatheam (Tomie) and Harold J. Cheatheam (Barbara), and grandsons.


She is predeceased by her sons William E. Lester Jr. and Russell Lee Elliott (Allison) and brothers Llannis Denton Cheatheam (Irene), Samuel Downs Cheatheam (Edna), Willie Claude Cheatheam (Lillian), David Larkin Cheatheam (Lois), Omer Newell Cheatheam, and her parents Samuel Llannis Cheatheam and Willie Bayless Avary.


The family would like to extend a special thanks to her good friend Mary Petty for her devotion and friendship throughout the years.


Pat was born and raised in Texas and then moved to New Orleans. She was a custom decorator for Sears for many years. Pat was well known for her cooking and wonderful pies. She also loved sewing and was an avid reader.


Relatives and friends of the family are invited to Leitz-Eagan Funeral Home Friday, September 4, 2015 at 4747 Veterans Memorial Blvd., where a Visitation will be held at 10am and a Memorial Service at 11am.


In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to your favorite charity in Pat's honor.
