Former Anchorage resident Janice Kay Flood, 43, died Feb. 22, 1995, at Gold Beach, Ore., while en route to her new residence in Indian Wells, Calif. A funeral was held at Turnagain Untied Methodist Church, 3300 W. Northern Lights Blvd., with the Rev. Dennis Holway officiating.

Ms. Flood was born Sept. 30, 1951, in Rockford, Ill. She moved to Alaska with her family in March 1961 and graduated from West Anchorage High School in 1969. She lived in Anchorage until March 1990, when she moved to Tucson, Ariz. Ms. Flood enjoyed the outdoors, fishing, hiking, tennis, and horseback riding. During her younger years, she participated in numerous horse shows at the Diamond H Horse Ranch in Anchorage and Alaska State Fair in Palmer. Her family said: "She was very artistic and had created many beautiful things for her home and gifts for her family and friends."

Ms. Flood is survived by a daughter, Nesa Jo Riendl of Seattle; twin sons, Jay Joseph Riendl of Travis Air Force Base, Fairfield, Calif., and Brooks Mark Riendl, attending Northern Arizona University at Flagstaff, Ariz.; parents, James and Joan of Anchorage; sister and brother-in-law, Jody Ann and Tom Peetz of Mercer Island, Wash.; grandmother, Mrs. Joseph Lencioni of Alta Loma, Calif.; and aunts and uncles, Margaret and Bill Dahlquist of Oconomowoc, Wis., and Virginia and Steve Anderson of Rockford. She was preceded in death by her brother, James William Flood. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be sent to a memorial established at the Anchorage Community YMCA, 5353 Lake Otis Parkway, Anchorage 99507. Arrangements were handled by Evergreen Memorial Chapel.
