Former Alaska resident Juanita Lois Fuller, 75, died of cancer Feb. 5, 2004, at Providence Alaska Medical Center. A memorial service was at Anchorage Native Assembly, 11th Avenue and Ingra Street. A visitation preceded and a burial followed the service at Angelus Memorial Park, with the Rev. Eldon Hicks officiating.

Ms. Fuller was born Sept. 28, 1928, in Mullan, Idaho. She moved to Alaska in 1952 and lived in Fairbanks, Homer and Wasilla. She worked for and retired from the state of Alaska as a corrections officer in Fairbanks. Ms. Fuller moved to Idaho to care for her mother in 1992. Her family writes: "Juanita was a caring and loving woman who not only cared for her children and grandchildren but also continually adopted surrogate children and grandchildren to care for. She was artistic and creative and enjoyed doing home projects with her grandchildren. She was also an avid gardener and had the best looking yard in Idaho."

She is survived by her mother, Lucille Braun of Osburn, Idaho; sons and daughters-in-law, Rudee L. Scott and Diane Carlo-Scott of Anchorage and Tony and Barbra Fuller of Cabool, Mo.; daughter and son-in-law, Kathleen Cole of Big Lake; grandchildren, Jocelyn Williams, Breckan Melozi and Sarah and Scott, Spencer and Keagan Fuller, Danielle and Mike Valencia, Damien Thorness, James and Jonathan Kendall and Jordan Cole, and Rhonda Bilte; and nine great-grandchildren. Arrangements were with Walker's Funeral Home.
