Jennie Betsey Simansky Davidson (1854-1917) was the daughter, and perhaps one of several children, of Simon Simansky (1834-1902) and his wife Sarah (née Orie) Simansky (1835-1912), and the granddaughter of Moses Simansky (1804-?) and Senach Orie (?-?). Jennie emigrated from Russia sometime in the middle of the 19th century, settling with her family in New Bedford, Massachusetts. There, she married Simon Davidson (1853-1923), a fellow Russian Jew, and together they were married until her death in 1917. They had approximately 17 children, with most of them dying in infancy. Nine of these lived to adulthood, although one, Isaac Davidson (born 1877) is missing and we do not know of what happened to him, as there is no death certificate for him. Jenny was diagnosed with a brain illness that was known at the time as senile dementia, but today is called Alzheimer's. She was sent to live in a home in Taunton, Massachusetts, where she died on 2 October 1917.
