Neola was born on May 31, 1911, at Oakley, Idaho, the last of 12 children born to John Harrison and Rosena Lee Craner. After being orphaned at 14, Dutchie lived with brothers and sisters. She married Clifford Carlos Dayley on Nov. 1, 1930, in Rupert. They resided in Oakley until moving to Richfield in 1947. Along with being a rancher's wife and homemaker, Dutchie was an active participant in the community. For several years she participated in the Lincoln County Republican Party. She was a vital force behind the building of Richfield Public Library and was president of the Burmah Club. Strong in her faith, she diligently served in various positions for the LDS Church. She attributed this life of love and service to the sacrifices her brothers and sisters made for her. She was loved by all and will be deeply missed.
Neola is survived by her husband, Clifford C. Dayley of 65 years of Kimberly; two daughters, Winnie Dayley (Jessie) West of Richfield and Jacquie (Richard) Luff of Kimberly; one son, DeVan "Toby" (Lori Pridmore) Dayley of Spokane, Wash.; one brother, Ross Craner of Kimberly; 11 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, five brothers, five sisters and one great grandson.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Tuesday, April 16, 1996, at the Richfield LDS Church by Bishop Mark Bowers. Interment services will be held at 2:30 p.m. at the Oakley Cemetery. Family and friends may call from 1 to 7 p.m. Monday at Demaray's Shoshone Chapel and one hour prior to the funeral services at the Richfield LDS Church.
