Virginia M Calleia, 84, of Rockford, died at 1:36 p.m. in OSF Saint Anthony Medical Center. Born May 31, 1923, in Alton. Lived most of her life in Rockford, coming here from Alton. Married Gregory D. Calleia in Great Lakes on May 29, 1943; he died November of 2005. She was employed by School District 205. First with Washington Jr. High and then with Guilford High School, where she worked in their cafeterias. Member of St. Anthony Church. Survivors include children, Greg "Chuck" (Judith) D.D.S. of Glen Ellyn, Pat (Denis) Murray of River Forks; grandchildren, Gregory (Shanon) Calleia, Pete (Tami) Calleia, Laura Calleia, Matthew Calleia, Gina (William) Naas and Katie (Greg) Critchfield; 12 great-grandchildren; sister, Mary Bradford of Durand. Service at 10 a.m. Wednesday, May 14, in St. Anthony Church, with the Franciscan Friars officiating. Burial in Calvary Cemetery. Visitation from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, May 13, in Gasparini and Oliveri Funeral Home, prayer service at 7 p.m. visitation also from 9 a.m. Wednesday to time of service in the church.
