AUGUSTA, Ga. - Mrs. Debra Anne Barton Mathis, 52, of Milton Rd, entered into rest on Monday, May 12, 2008, at Trinity Hospital. Funeral services will be held from the chapel of Chance & Hydrick Funeral Directors this Wednesday, May 14, 2008 at 1:00 PM with the Reverends Danny Lewis and Bill Burch officiating. Interment will follow in the Harlem Memorial Cemetery, Harlem, GA. Mrs. Mathis was a native of Augusta and was employed by the Columbia County Board of Education as a school bus driver. Survivors include her mother and stepfather, Frances 'Bonnie' and Stanley 'Leo' Bourassa, of Augusta, daughter and son in law, Michelle and Timothy Oglesby, daughter, Kristina Peters and son, Joseph Peters; grandchildren, Kara Donehoo, Cyndel Donehoo, Areielle Oglesby, Leighton Peters, and Tyler Peters; brothers, Andy Bourassa of Augusta, Sammy Bourassa of Hope Mills, NC; sisters and brothers in law, Angie and Sonny Helmly of Hephzibah, Tammy and Don Tharpe of Keysville, Melba and HC Miller of Hope Mills, NC, and Connie Gregory of St Paul, NC; and several nieces and nephews. Mrs. Mathis was preceded in death by her father, Lucius Barton, sister Theresa Gautier, and brother Dennis Barton. Pallbearers will be Timothy Oglesby, Jose Chavez, Phil Lewis, Jimmie Newman, Jr, Lee Lewis, and Don Tharpe.
