Maxaline B. (Blakey) Pierce, 91, Anderson, passed away May 12, 2008, at Countryside Manor, Anderson, after a brief illness.

She was born Oct. 20, 1916, in Russell Springs, Ky., and resided in Anderson since 1940.

Maxaline retired in 1972 from Guide Lamp Division of General Motors. She was a member of the United Auto Workers Local 663 and loved gardening, outdoors and antiques.

She is survived by her husband, Lilburn Pierce, whom she married Nov. 20, 1937; sister, Olza (George) Ice of Anderson; and nieces and nephews, Herlon Dixon, Patty Burton, Lindel Sims, Margaret Hadley, Carol S. Paulis, Richard Selby, Sandra McClintick, Monte Ice and Belinda Flickinger.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Lenis and Ellen (Chapman) Blakey; sisters, Martha Sims, Mary Dixon, Marie Blakey and Pauline Selby; and a brother, Marcus Blakey.

Services will be at 2:30 p.m. Friday at Robert D. Loose Funeral Homes and Crematory, South Chapel, 200 W. 53rd St., Anderson, with the Rev. Gary Klinger officiating. Burial will be in Anderson Memorial Park Cemetery.
