She was born in Edwardsivlle, daughter of the late Jacob and Mary Karash Zaboly. Mrs. Mika was a sucessful businesswoman for 55 years. First operating Helen's Horseshoe Bar, Ashely, from 1947 until 1957, and later the Pine View Inn, Nuangola, from 1957 until 2002. She was a member of St. Mary's Maternity Church, Wilkes-Barre.
Helen was a generous person, and her kindness touched family, friends and strangers.
Her husband Chester Mika Sr., died Feb. 10 2002: brothers Joseph and Frank; sister Josephine Ivanich, also preceded her in death.
I would like to thank all who leave flowers for my grandmother she was a very special person. I appreciate it and I know she does too. Neno we love and miss you everyday.
