His is brother to Marion, Pauline, Esther and Donald.
He married Wanda L Koonce (date unknown), and they became the parents of a living daughter. However, they were later divorced in 1970, in Los Angeles. He then married Jackie LaRue Lewis in 1973, and remained married to her until his death.
Mr. Youngborg served his country in the U.S. Army during WWII. He served in the Pacific Theater as a Master Sergeant and Technical Sergeant and was assigned to the East China Wing of the 14th Air Force in China. He was one of twenty-one members of the Fourteenth Air Force headquarters of the East China Wing who was awarded the Bronze Star "for distinguishing [himself] for meritorious service in connection with sustained combat operations against the enemy from May 28, 1944 to Nov 7, 1944. During this period of time the enemy launched the biggest offensive of the China War and extended through the battles for the East China bases to the fall of Liuchow base." (China Command Post, Vol 3 No 3 - February 23, 1945).
After the war Mr. Youngborg taught American History and Government at Taft Union High School. He was much loved and admired by his students. He inspired many of his student to become teachers of history.
After his retirement Mr. Youngborg and his beloved wife Jackie moved to Visalia, California where he remained until his death.
Mr. Youngborg is buried in the North Hilmar Cemetery in Hilmar, Merced County, California.
