While engaged in cooking the midday meal Sunday at her home in Base Line near Harlem Springs, Mrs. Mary Clark, wife of Ex-Supervisor John D. Clark, fell dead from a sudden attack of heart trouble.
The funeral will be held today from the home at 2 o'clock. Interment will be in the San Bernardino cemetery.
Mrs. Clark was a native of Utah, her maiden name being Hawes, and her mother and several brothers and sisters are living in this valley. She had been a resident of the valley for many years, coming here from Utah when quite young. Her age was 52 years.
She had been in ill health for some time, the death of her only child and daughter some time ago greatly affecting her. She has grieved the loss of her loved one, whom she greatly cherished, and it is believed this had affected her health.
Mrs. Clark was a woman of high character and was highly esteemed by a very large circle of friends she had gained throughout the valley in her long residence here. Mr. Clark has the sincere sympathy of a large number of friends in this bereavement, following, as it does soon after the loss of his daughter.
